We propose a new way for sympathetic cooling of ions in an electromagnetic Paul trap: it implies the use this purpose cold buffer atoms region atom-ion confinement-induced resonance (CIR). The problem is that unavoidable micromotion ion and long-range nature its interaction with environment colder hybrid atomic-ion trap prevent cooling. show destructive effect on can however be suppressed vicinity CIR. origin "fermionization" wave function near CIR, where pair behaves as noninteracting identical fermions. This prevents complete approach atom does not enhance micromotion, which interferes investigate around CIRs atom-atom confined collisions within qusiclassical-quantum using Li-Yb$^+$ Li-Yb systems example.
